Ingredients
- 350 g flank steak thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp cooking oil I use coconut oil
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp kimchi juice
- 1/4 cup kimchi
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Trim any excess fat from the flank steak and cut it across the grain into thin slices. (See tip for tenderizing below in notes)
- On a wok or skillet over medium-high heat, add cooking oil, minced garlic and sautee until fragrant (a few seconds). Then add the steak and cook while mixing often for 5 minutes.
- Add kimchi juice, kimchi, sesame oil, salt, and sesame seeds. Mix and cook for a few more minutes while mixing often. Serve over cauliflower rice and a side of bell peppers. Garnish with freshly chopped green onions and enjoy!
Notes
Pro tip: To tenderize the steak, you can marinate it in an acidic marinade such as citrus juice or vinegar which chemically breaks down the tough muscle fibers, resulting in a delicate piece of steak. Do so for no more than 20 minutes and rinse before adding to the wok.
