Why Peanut Butter Is The Og Of Keto Snacks
Yes, peanut butter is keto friendly. Yay. But before we rejoice and throw a party, let’s all make sure to read the labels!
Why? Because while nut butter and a little bit of salt is okay, added sugar is an absolute no-no for keto.
Which is why, we should typically stick with all natural peanut butters with only up to two ingredients in them- peanuts, and salt.
But why is peanut butter good for keto? Well, for one, keto is all about that high-fat, low-carb diet, and peanut butter contains mostly fat and protein, with very little carbs. That‘s to say, if it’s all natural (I can’t stress this enough!).
It frankly doesn’t seem real. Most of my friends think that keto doesn’t have delicious things, seeing as it’s a little bit restrictive.
But here we are, making keto peanut butter bombs, completely unconcerned. Ah, life.
Why Is Fat Important In Keto?
In general, there are three sources of fuel in our bodies- carbs, protein and fats according to FranciscanHealth.org. As you might have guessed, we want to dramatically reduce (and not outright take out carbs from the equation).
Without carbs, our bodies are forced to rely on fat for energy. Then, protein replaces the carbs in terms of glucose conversion and is used for energy.
Using fat instead of glucose from converted carbs is a process called ketosis.
The idea is that 70 to 80 percent of our bodies’ calories is from fats, and since we burn that for energy too, we lose weight.
Peanut butter is not only a delight in the keto diet- it’s a necessity. It’s one of the best low carb sources of fat and protein that’s available to us.
It basically embodies the state of ketosis we want to achieve.
Most people slide right back into their unhealthy eating habits because they can’t sustain the keto diet and its restrictions.
But that was before. Nowadays, people find it more difficult to fall off the wagon because of the increasing number of alternatives available, and, of course, because of our recipes, that make the original unhealthy meals pale in comparison to their keto version.
Snack Attack
Yes, we could eat peanut butter out of the jar. Sure, that is acceptable (at least for my boyfriend.)
Though discounting the times when we’re asleep, snacking is definitely one of the best ways to spend our limited time here on earth.
Unfortunately snacking can really be a problem for us ketoers.
Or at least it was! Not anymore, though! With this keto peanut butter fat bomb recipe, we eliminate the guilt associated with sweet and honest to God good food.
This means, while practicing moderation, we can eat these keto peanut butter bombs guilt-free!
I don’t know if you have ever experienced this sudden, dramatic drop in blood sugar that makes you irritable and tired, and out of sorts.

Choc Zero White Chocolate Chips
My keto peanut butter fat bomb recipe is full of fats, instead of carbs, which replaces it as a source of energy.
But peanut butter isn’t all there is in this delicious confection. It also has white chocolate chips!!!
Most of you guys who follow my blog know by now that I’m obsessed with chocolate, which isn’t as problematic as it sounds.
It doesn’t really clash with my keto diet because I use ChocZero sugar free chocolate, which is lower in carbs than regular sweet chocolate.
And the white chocolate chips in this low carb candy really balances out the monk fruit sweetener. It’s the perfect complimentary combination! Yum!

Believe me, they are the bomb!
These crazy delicious confections work their way up your heart, not to give you a heart attack, but to give you pleasure without the accompanying guilt (the best kind of pleasure.)
It’s seriously so good, I doubt you could settle for eating just one in one sitting. I can easily bet on 3 or 4.
My partner and I keep a batch in the fridge, so that whenever we feel super hungry, or a particularly intense craving, we can just open the fridge for a quick grab.
It only has one drawback, which I discovered when I downed two while cooking dinner. I was so hungry then too, so I decided on grabbing one and ended up eating two (sigh).
Tragic really. Which is why from then on out, I kept it to one bomb before dinner, and only for emergencies.
After dinner though, that’s a different matter altogether. Then it’s all you can eat (just kidding!).
Try the bombs, and prepare to be blown away!
